Music Choice: What was it that drew you to working with Wonderama?
David Osmond: It’s one of the longest-running kids TV programs and I am so honored to be the host of this new version. When I was approached to host and executive produce, I fell in love immediately. I come from a large family and have kids myself so to be in the captain’s chair and watch the kids in our audiences light up is a special thing.

MC: Break down for us what Wonderama does.
DO: We’re information education. We may have a kid genius come on, do a science experiment and blow something up. Make the studio a huge mess. Kid chefs come on. It’s truly a variety!

MC: What’s your favorite part of the show?
DO: The games. It’s messy. Remember Double Dare? We have that vibe. We want to educate but have you be entertained as well.

MC: It’s not crazy to see a small child glued to their own phone or iPad screen, so in today’s world how and why is Wonderama important to kids?
DO: It’s a one-button click to see something dangerous and mom and dad may never know. The innocence of a child I respect and think is sacred. I want to be able to create something that is fun, entertaining, educational, and safe. Something that’s inspiring! To have kids watch these amazing things on our show to get them looking up at the world and not down at the phone.

MC: Has there been one performance while you’ve been hosting that kids have REALLY reacted to?
DO: I love science experiments. We did this one called “elephant toothpaste” with young science guru Chase Wiley where he was mixing chemicals and dumped them into a huge vat and then it exploded all over the studio. Kids light up because science is actually cool!

MC: What excites you most about the future of Wonderama?
DO: To not just find the next talent but give them a place where they feel they can accomplish something wonderful. Whether you’re a musician or a dancer or other performers. We had a contortionist that could shoot bows and arrows!

This Wonderama team is like a family. We hope as kids watch they also feel like they’re part of the family.
