Q. How do I create a profile?

A. TV: Scroll up to the top, select Profiles > Add Profiles

Mobile Devices: Click the upper right profile icon > Switch Profile > Add profile

Q. How do I create a KIDS profile?

A. You can only create a KIDS profile once an adult profile is created. If you try to setup a kids profile as the initial profile, you’ll be locked out for upwards of 30mins. KIDS profiles always have to be associated with an adult profile. They cannot be created on their own.

Q. App is asking for a PIN but I’ve never had a PIN.

A. You can create a PIN after you register for a Music Choice profile. Creating a profile on mobile devices is now a requirement. When you download our app, you must first create a profile; this is where you will create your PIN number. Finally, connect with your TV provider using your username and password. Once you’ve created a profile, the profile will be saved by default, unless you delete or remove it manually. This means you will never have to enter your profile info again, unless you need to sign in again after you’ve deleted or removed your profile.

Q. I selected “reset my pin” but never received an email.

A. You will not receive a “reset pin” email if you haven’t created a Music Choice profile yet. In order to create a profile follow the steps below:

  1. Enter your Music Choice app.
  2. Click on SIGN UP FOR FREE.
  3. Your screen should now show a CREATE PROFILE page. Please go ahead and fill in your information. For now, leave your TV Rating at TV-MA.
  4. Click NEXT.
  5. Create and enter a PIN number and press NEXT (This is a new number, not something that you’ve been assigned before).
  6. Re-enter the same PIN number (for confirmation) and press NEXT.

At this point, if you upgraded from an existing app it might not ask you to choose your cable provider.
If you do need to enter in your credentials, go ahead and select your cable provider, or choose ALL PROVIDERS and choose from the list.
Then enter in your normal cable provider credentials. And that should do it!

Q. How do I sync my profile to my Set Top Box?

  1. Open up the MC ETV App on your Set Top Box
  2. Scroll up until you see a drop down bar appear.
  3. Choose PROFILES
  4. Choose ADD PROFILE
  5. A pop-up window will appear with a 6-digit code.
  6. Go to http://activate.musicchoice.com and enter in the code.
  7. On the web app, you should now either see the “Sign into Your Music Choice Profile” prompt or the “Create a New Profile” prompt.
  8. Choose “SIGN INTO YOUR MUSIC CHOICE PROFILE.”
  9. Enter in your email address and PIN to sync your profile!

Q. I can only see Kids channels.

A. If, while you were creating your profile, you chose a TV Rating that was below TV-MA (the default) then your options will be limited to the music channels that fall into your chosen rating. Follow the steps below to change your TV Rating:

  1. Click on the circle icon for your profile in the top right corner of the app.
  2. Click on “Update Profile.”
  3. Click “Edit Profile.”
  4. At the bottom of this screen, choose your desired TV Rating.

Q. Why can’t I just create a KIDS profile?

A. KIDS profiles always have to be associated with an adult profile. They cannot be created on their own.

Q. Why do I need to make a profile?

A. Creating a profile on TV is not a requirement, but it will allow you to filter content for parental controls, including setting up KIDS profiles. Shortly, we will be a launching personalization features, like favorites, that will allow you to save your favorite videos, artists, channels, playlists, and more across all platforms. Creating a profile on mobile devices is a requirement. Your profile allows for us to provide on-the-go access to premium content.

Q. Can I skip making a profile and just login with my TV provider to get my music?

A. You can skip creating a profile on TV, but we require you to create a profile on all mobile devices. Creating a profile on mobile devices is a requirement. Your profile allows for us to provide on-the-go access to premium content.

Q. What happens if I skip signing in to my TV Provider on the Mobile App?

A. You can only access content from the discover tab. You will not be able to access music channels, videos, or any of the other features from our application until you sign in with your TV Everywhere credentials.

Q. How do I delete a profile?

A. Mobile: Click the upper right profile icon, select Update Profile > delete profile. Please note that all associated KIDS profiles will be deleted as well. You can also simply go under KIDS profiles and select the child’s profile by clicking update profile > delete.

TV: Scroll up to the top, select Profiles > Choose the profile you’d like to delete, navigate down to the delete icon, and click enter.

Q. If I delete my profile, will my KIDS profile be deleted as well?

A. Yes, deleting your profile will permanently remove it from our application, along with any KIDS profiles that are associated with it.

Q. Why do I need a profile pin?

A. The pin acts as your password to sign into your profile, prevents others from tampering with your profile, and is required to access, edit, or delete a KIDS profile.

Q. How do I reset my profile pin?

A. TV: Scroll up to the top, select Profiles > Update Profiles > Reset PIN

Mobile Devices: Click the upper right profile icon > Update Profile > Reset PIN

Q. Why am I locked out of my account?

A. Entering a PIN in incorrectly more than 5 times will temporarily suspend your account for five minutes. If you cannot remember your PIN request a new one.

Q. Why am I being logged off all the time?

A. Every 14-30 days, you will need to re-authenticate your cable credentials to prove that you are a valid cable subscriber. Verify your cable information to stay logged in to the app!

Q. It’s telling me that I’ve reached my device limit.

A. Music Choice profiles can only be logged onto five devices at a time.
