ARDYs are a celebration! Radio Disney is throwing a bash to big up all your fav artists with some seriously exciting guests coming through to help out. ARDYs will be going down live June 16, 8/7c, from Los Angeles on Disney Channel and the DisneyNOW app! Sofia Carson will take on hosting duties for the festivities, and the legendary Steve Aoki will be providing the beats as the evening’s DJ!
Along with Sofia and Steve, a few other awesome artists will be gracing the ARDYs stage; scroll below for some fun facts on everyone involved!
Sofia Carson
– Sofia is fluent in English, Spanish, and French! Anyone else feel lazy right about now?
– Sofia is proud to be a bilingual and bi-cultural Latina. She was raised eating both mac and cheese, and arroz con pollo!
– Sofia Carson has been writing her own music since she was ten years old! She writes music in both English and Spanish.
Steve Aoki
– Steve is the son of Japanese mogul Rocky Aoki, founder of the Benihana restaurant chain.
– Steve focused on Women’s Studies while in college.
lovelytheband
– lovelytheband’s logo is a bright red pair of lips.
– lovelytheband made their breakthrough in 2017 with their single “Broken.”
Fetty Wap
– He’s grateful: Fetty Wap lost his left eye as a result of congenital glaucoma, but doctors were able to save his right one.
– Fetty Wap was born Willie Maxwell II.
Meg Donnelly
– Every little thing gonna be alright: Meg is big fan of Bob Marley’s music.
– One of Meg’s all time favorite flicks is The Lion King.
– Before auditions Meg’s dad would always tell her “you have nothing to lose.”
– Meg is currently Radio Disney’s NBT (Next Big Thing)!
Andy Grammer
– Andy says more than a Grammy, he’d like to win a Nobel Peace Prize.
– You can catch him on the slopes. Andy loves to snowboard.
– Want to get Andy a sweet treat? He loves Little Debbie brownies.
Avril Lavigne
– Avril had a pizza named after her in her hometown of Napanee, Ontario.
– Avril Lavigne performed during the closing ceremonies of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy.
– The first song Avril ever wrote was about a crush in her teens. She said it was “cheesy cute.”
Gabby Barrett
– Gabby finished third in the 16th season of American Idol!
– Fast facts: Gabby sang the National Anthem at the Daytona 500.
– Gabby threw out the first pitch at a 2018 Pittsburgh Pirates game, a strike on the corner!
