The 90s are back, baby! Dierks Bentley’s passion project, Hot Country Knights have released their debut The K Is Silent today (5/1 via UMG Nashville) and the mullets, acid-washed jeans, and wraparound shades are bountiful. What started as a cover band has blossomed into a full-fledged country nostalgia trip. In the band, Bentley masquerades as Douglas “Doug” Douglason with his backing band taking on equally goofball personas. Rounding out the lineup are Trevor Travis, Marty “Rayro” Ray Roburn, Terotej “Terry” Dvoraczekynski, Barry Van Ricky, and Monte Montgomery.
The album contains soon to be classics like “Moose Knuckle Shuffle” and “You Make It Hard.” The puns and jokes do not stop. A number of high profile guests also get in on the fun with Travis Tritt and Terri Clark appearing to add to the band’s 90s vibe.
All weekend on Music Choice’s Today’s Country channel Hot Country Knights are taking over with their new album. For the next three days, the hilarious tracks will be playing along with fresh facts about the band’s wild backstory and the making of the album being displayed. Grab that neon windbreaker from the back of the closet, get in the 90s mindset, and rock out to Hot Country Knights!
As an added bonus we were able to get HCK to give us some insight into the new album and all the craziness they miss from the 90s. Check out the two videos below!
“The greatest country music of all time.”
“We trademarked the 90s just like we trademarked the mullet.”
