Tamar Braxton- “Crazy Kind of Love” (BMG)
Tamar Braxton has tried, and tried to get that special someone back. On “Crazy Kind of Love” the soulful singer laments about that person she just couldn’t keep by her side. Braxton gets to show off her impressive vocals over the sparkling, throwback R&B joint. The track comes from the soundtrack to True to the Game 2 and you can hear it on Music Choice’s R&B Soul channel!
Little Mix- “Break Up Song” (Columbia)
British girl group Little Mix has dropped their first track of 2020 and it’s a heater. “Break Up Song” is a full-on 80s vibe with big, automated drums and laser-like synths as the group’s vocals pristinely savage the dudes they’ve left in the dust. Put in your side ponytail and bop around to this one now on MC’s Teen Beats channel!
Little Mix has been going live online to take fan questions during quarantine!
Waxahatchee- “Can’t Do Much” (Merge)
Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield isn’t getting too sappy about a new love. On “Can’t Do Much” from the new album Saint Cloud Crutchfield sings of feelings of apprehension about fresh infatuation. The track is a breeze. The kind of folk-rocker that sounds best enjoyed on a front porch. You can hear it now on the Music Choice Indie channel.
Brray, Mariah- “Y Qué Pasó?” (Universal Music Latino)
Puerto Rican trap star Brray teams up with Miami-born reggeaton singer Mariah for the hot “Y Qué Pasó?” The title translates to “and what happened?” and the answer is a big bump of a track. The pair go back forth with Brray showing off his mic skills as Mariah’s sultry vocals temper his fire rhymes. The beat gets thrown some dubstep wobbles in its latter third to give the song a real party vibe. Hear it now on the MC Musica Urbana channel.
Pop & Country
Kane Brown, John Legend- “Last Time I Say Sorry” (RCA Nashville)
This is almost too much talent for one song! Country star Kane Brown has teamed up with vocal icon John Legend for “Last Time I Say Sorry.” The mournful piano ballad obviously finds the two artists singing gloriously, ramping their vocals up as the strings swell. It’s just as powerful and moving as one could hope. Hear the song now on the MC Pop & Country channel.
During the coronavirus pandemic John Legend has been streaming live performances from his home!
